Description
As a Tow Truck Driver you will respond to any accident calls, impounds,
or Road Side Assistance Calls as determined by the dispatcher or if
called by Law Enforcement Officials. After notifying the police, all
tows and impounds will be brought to the Bay City Towing & Recovery
Yard and then processed. If no officers are on you are responsible for
recording the tows you make so that you can inform an officer when one
joins the server, or you can notify your supervisor/higher up. From
there it will be determined if the owner wishes to get their vehicle out
of impound yard, otherwise will be sold or junked with Permission From
Law Enforcement after the vehicle has been in our yard for 24hours or
more. YOU WILL NOT SELL ANY VEHICLES, THAT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF A
SUPERVISOR. The money from all sold vehicles will be added up and then
distributed to BCTR employees as a bonus at the end of the month. At the
scene of accident YOU WILL BE REQUIRED to clean up any mess left behind.
YOU will be responsible for your Tow Truck (i.e.) Gas, Mechanical
Problems, Cleanliness inside and out, we don't want slobs working for
us. You are also responsible for using our vehicles for work related
purposes only. That being said we do understand people need to get to
work and back to their home, so it will be OK to use the truck issued to
you to get to work and back home after notifying a supervisor that you
need to do so. If needed for any other issues contact a supervisor with
any questions. While using our trucks you will obey all rules of the
road, DO NOT ABUSE YOUR LIGHTS/ ONLY USE YOUR LIGHTS WHILE ON THE SCENE
OF AN ACCIDENT/ TOW/ VEHICLE REPAIR/ OR WHILE YOU ARE ACTUALLY TOWING A
VEHICLE. YOU ARE ALSO NOT ALLOWED TO SPEED TO THE SCENE OF AN
ACCIDENT/TOW/VEHICLE REPAIR, were not the police, were not the fire
department, and we are not EMS. When arriving at the scene of an
accident, tow, etc. You will park in a manner that is safe to do so.
Upon being hired, you will go through a one week probationary period,
meaning you will not have your own truck just yet. Also during your one
week probationary period you will be informed on our procedures and
other rules that have not been stated in this forum. You will ride along
with a supervisor or higher, they will be watching, and grading you,
which will determine if you will hired full time to our staff or not.
There may be Opportunity for advancement to Shift Supervisor or
Supervisor if you can prove that you have good customer service, as well
as obeying all traffic regulations, and not causing any problems with
our staff.
(Pay Rates will be discussed at a later time).
EVERYTHING WILL GO UP YOUR CHAIN OF COMMAND MEANING THAT IF YOU HAVE ANY
COMMENTS, CONCERNS, OR QUESTIONS YOU WILL BRING IT UP TO YOUR
SUPERVISOR AND YOUR SUPERVISOR WILL BRING IT HIGHER.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE RULES/GUIDELINES WILL RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS AND OR TERMINATION FROM BCTR.
